Brainspotting

Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting is a focused therapeutic approach that uses the field of vision to access unprocessed trauma and emotional experiences stored in the subcortical brain which holds our survival responses, implicit memories, and deeply ingrained patterns.

How Brainspotting Works

Brainspotting uses fixed eye positions to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. By identifying specific “brainspots” where trauma is stored, this modality allows deep processing without requiring you to verbalize painful experiences.

Unlike talk therapy, Brainspotting bypasses the thinking brain and works directly with the body’s stored trauma, allowing healing to occur at a deeper, more foundational level.

Many clients describe Brainspotting as life-changing, providing relief and resolution where other approaches haven't been able to reach.

What Brainspotting Can Address

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Grief and loss

  • Performance blocks and creative stagnation

  • Physical pain with emotional roots

  • Unresolved experiences that resist traditional talk therapy

How I Use Brainspotting in My Work

I integrate Brainspotting when clients are processing profound loss, trauma, or identity shifts that logic alone cannot reach. It’s particularly powerful for high-achieving individuals who are accustomed to “thinking their way through” challenges, as it allows the body to lead the healing process.
