Though demanding, I loved my work, the amazing experiences I was afforded, and enjoyed my life. Life was good, so I thought.

MY MOTHER DIES & EVERYTHING CHANGES

My mom was my best friend, my heart, and my safe space. I go looking for support that can hold both aspects of my identity — the professional still expected to perform, and the daughter whose world was just shattered— and I can’t find it. Nothing out there spoke to the person who is achieving and grieving at the same time. I felt lost, confused, frustrated and alone.

THE QUESTIONS GOT LOUDER

Grief asked me questions I couldn’t ignore

Do I know who I really am? Whose life am I actually living? If my time were limited , what would I do with it? Do I truly feel fulfilled? I stopped performing my way past these questions and let them work on me. As a result, my mom’s death becomes my rebirth into my purpose.
